Seminars & Webinars

FAST has been organizing several aviation/tourism related national and international seminars in the past, including one in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation - “Air Transport Symposium: India – Asia: Civil Aviation Cooperation” in September 2009 in the Ashok Hotel where delegates from 16 ASEAN countries participated.

Some of the other seminars held in the recent past were for the Chhattisgarh Tourism : “A Tool for Economic Development and Poverty Alleviation” at New Delhi in January 2013, Seminar on “Optimal Use of Airspace: Civil-Defence Cooperation” in March 2013 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. “Make in India : Challenges & Opportunities in Civil Aviation Sector” at India International Centre on 2nd February 2016, “Boosting Tourism : Aviation the Driving Force”, 15th December 2016 at Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity, New Delhi, “Connectivity : Driving Tourism for Inclusive Growth”, 12th April 2018 at India International Centre, “Developing & Positioning India as a World Class Destination”, 16th January 2019 and “Emerging Challenges in Aviation : Infrastructure, Capacity Building & Seamless Travel”, 19th November 2019 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

Seminar on “Challenges & Opportunities for Air Cargo during the Decade Ahead” was organized by FAST on 7th October 2022 at IIC, New Delhi. Gen. (Dr.) V K Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Government of India inaugurated the seminar as chief guest and Shri Dushyant Chautala, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of Haryana - guest of honour, addressed the participants on this occasion. The seminar was a grand success.

Seminar on “India’s G-20 Presidency: Golden Opportunity for India Tourism” held by FAST on 26th Apr 2023 at India International Centre. Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism Shri Shripad Yesso Naik was the chief Guest and addressed the participants through video link, the seminar was a great success in terms of participation, deliberations and outcome.

Seminar on “ Emerging Scenario in Aviation : India Needs Matching Infrastructure & Support Services” , 28th December 2023 at ITC, New Delhi. Eminent speakers interacted with the participants from the aviation fraternity. Seminar was a grand success in terms of participation, deliberations & outcome.

FAST hosted a Seminar on “Taking India Tourism Forward: Through Technological Innovations & Green Sustainability”, on 23rd Sept. 2024 at India International Centre - New Delhi. Eminent speakers interacted with the participants from the aviation fraternity. Seminar was a grand success in terms of participation, deliberations & outcome.

Seminar on “Ease of Air Travel, Key to Better Passenger Experience”, was hosted by FAST on 9th April 2025 at India International Centre, New Delhi. The Event featured prominent figures as speakers from the aviation industry, such as President FAST, Lt. Gen. KM Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh Shri V. Vualnam, IAS, Secretary (Civil Aviation), Government of India, Shri Kapil Kaul, CEO - CAPA(Asia-Pacific Region, Shri K Narayana Rao, Vice President, DIAL, Shri VP Agrawal, former Chairman, AAI & Vice President FAST, Dr. RK Tyagi, former Chairman,HAL and former CMD - Pawan Hans, Shri Yashpal Sharma, MD – Skyways Group, Capt. RP Singh, CAD, Govt. of Haryana, Dr. Alka Maheshwari, Amity University, Ms. Alpana Chaturvedi and many others speakers of eminence. Chief Guest Shri V. Vualnam presided over the inaugural session and addressed the delegates. More than 130 delegates and other prominent dignitaries from the aviation industry, including Shri Madhu Sudan, Jt. Secy., MoCA, Shri Amit Kumar, Chairman, Air India Assets Holding Co. and many more participated as special guests in the seminar which was a grand success in terms of participation, deliberations and outcome.

Foundation for Aviation & Sustainable Tourism (FAST), with support of Ministry of Tourism, hosted a Seminar on “ Current Domestic & Global Challenges and Roadmap for India’s Accelerated Tourism Growth”, on 26th September 2025 at India International Centre, New Delhi. The Event featured prominent figures from the tourism & travel industry ,such as Shri MP Bezbaruah, Shri Vinod Zutshi and Shri Arvind Singh - all three former Secretaries, Government of India, Shri Atul Bhalla, Vice President Operators (North & West), ITC Hotels, Key note speaker, Smt. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, former DG (Tourism) and Managing Director, India Tourism Development Corporation Prof.(Dr.) Manahor Sajnani, Amity University, Shri Piyush Tewari, former Director (Commercial & Marketing and a few others from the industry viz. Shri Ved Khanna, President - ADTOI, Shri Rajiv Mehra, General Secretary, FAITH, spoke on this occasion.. More than 100 delegates from tour, travel & hospitality sector participated in the seminar which was a grand success in terms of participation, deliberations and outcome.

Seminar on New India Rising : Powering Growth with Air Cargo and MROs, 7th April 2026 at India International Centre, New Delhi. The seminar brought together senior policy makers, industry leaders, aviation experts and stakeholders to discuss the structural reforms and strategic interventions required to strengthen India’s aviation ecosystem After the inaugural session, there were two Business sessions - first one dealt with Cargo operations and second one with MROs. Eminent speakers from both these streams participated in the discussions and some of the important points which emerged from the entire deliberations were sent to Ministry of Civil Aviation , including the need for policy stability, infrastructure enhancement and integrated logistics planning to support India’s long-term growth ambitions

Webinar on “Aviation in India Beyond COVID 19 Pandemic”, 14th May 2020 4 PM – 5.15 PM. The primary objective of conducting this seminar was to mentally prepare the stakeholders in aviation to meet the challenges posed by the outbreak of COVID 19 and suggest ways and means as to how we should revive the aviation sector. This webinar was jointly held with EBG (The European Business Group) – the first ever webinar held by FAST, moderated by Mr. Raman Sidhu, CEO, EBG Federation and National Spokesperson EBG. Other Key speakers at the webinar were : Mr. Arvind Singh, IAS, then Chairman AAI, Mr. Ashwani Lohani, former Chairman, Air India and Railway Board. Lt. Gen.KM Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh launched the knowledge sharing series of webinars and delivered the Welcome address. From EBG Mr. P. Jenson, MD, EBTC and Team leadr EBG addressed the participants. The vote of thanks was placed on record by Mr.VP Agrawal, former Chairman AAI and Vice President FAST. Overall, the webinar was a grand success.

Webinar on “Preparing Today for Travel & Tourism Tomorrow” - on 28th May 2020 from 1130 AM - 1245 PM. Key speakers were : (i) Shri Vinod Zutshi, (ii) Shri MP Bezbaruah, both former Secretaries (Tourism),Government of India, (iii) Mrs.Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General(Tourism). Gen.KM Seth, President FAST and Shri VP Agrawal, Vice President - also spoke to the participants on this occasion.

Webinar on “New Initiatives to Rejuvenate Aviation” - held on 17th June 2020 from 11AM to 12.15PM. Key speakers were : Gen.KM Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh & FAST President, Shri VP Agrawal, former Chairman AAI and Vice President FAST, Dr. RK Tyagi, Independent Board Member - Air India Ltd., Shri Inderjit Singh, Consultant, Aviation and Shri V Somasundaram, former Member (ANS), AAI.

Webinar on “Drones Eco-System in India : Present and Future”, 18th September 2020 from 11AM to 12.15 PM.. Key speakers were : Gen. K M Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh, Shri V P Agrawal, former Chairman AAI and Vice President FAST, Shri Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Shri AK Dutta, former Member (ANS), AAI and Shri Smit Shah, Director Drone Federation of India. The webinar was well attended and most interactive.

Webinar on “Sustainable Tourism in India Amidst COVID”, 2nd July 2021 – jointly organized by FAST and Responsible Society of India. Key speakers were : Gen. KM Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh, Shri Rakesh Mathur, President - RTSOI, Shri Vinod Zutshi, former Secretary (Tourism), Government of India, Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, Secretary(Civil Aviation), Shri Arvind Singh, Secretary (Tourism) - Government of India, Shri Deep Kalra, Executive Chairman – MakeMy Trip, Shri Kamal Hingorani, Chief Customer Service Officer, SpiceJet and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy & Revenue Officer, Indigo Airlines. The webinar was well attended and most interactive.

Webinar on “Airspace Safety : Air Traffic Control & Airline Operations” : This webinar was organized on 25th February 2022 from 11AM to 1230 PM Gen. (Dr.) VK Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Civil Aviation was the chief guest and delivered the “Key note address” on this occasion. Other eminent speakers included Shri Vineet Gulati, Member ANS - Airports Authority of India, Capt. Anushree Verma, Chief of Flight Safety, Spice Jet. Lt. Gen. K M Seth, former Governor of Tripura & Chhattisgarh and President FAST welcomed the guests and delegates. Shri Raman Sidhu, Life Member FAST moderated the deliberations and Shri VP Agrawal, Vice President concluded the webinar with vote of thanks to all guests, delegates, speakers and the chief guest. There were about 100 particiipants and the event was highly successful in terms of participation, deliberations and outcome.
